On the 20th of February, we received a "You've made the cover" message from our client. At first we had assumed it was an early April fools joke, however, on further inspection we had remembered the photoshoot which had taken place 1 year before the release of the article. Not only did we make the cover of the SA HomeOwner Magazine March 2021 edition, but our photos had also dominated 8 pages inside the magazine!
It all started on a normal working day in early December 2019. We had received a request from our client - Propr, to photograph a five-bedroom designer three-storey home in Bakoven. The brief was very basic - "We need the best in the business, when are you available"? Upon our arrival, we entered the home via an unassuming walkway that leads into the top floor of the house. From the exterior, the house is perceived as a single floor home with high walls and no views. Once we made our way into the living area on the third floor we were met by stunning artwork, bespoke lighting and lush furnishings, all coming together to create a luxurious living space. Peet van der Merwe, owner and founder of Chrome Interiors had selected quality products and used a colour palette that mimicked the property's surroundings (beach sand, boulders, ocean and sky).
This home capitalises on the endless sea views by seamlessly blending the interior and exterior with the extensive use of large glass sliding doors. The large open-planned living, dining and kitchen space is complemented with an adjacent exterior pool and entertainment area. The third floor extended into the lower second and third levels via the staircase. The second level housed three bedrooms and an office while the second floor had two bedrooms, an additional open-planned living, dining and kitchen area as well as an outside pool.
This post-card perfect home should be number one on your bucket list for a family holiday vacation in Bakoven!
